DAV College Bathinda has always been cognisant of its role in imparting quality education to the youth in the country. Keeping in tandem thus, Internal Quality Assurance Cell has been constituted in accordance with the NAAC guidelines and the existing academic and administrative system of the college.

Activities

DAV College, Bathinda since its inception has been encouraging its faculty members to update themselves professionally through organizational structural support and human resource developmental programmes. IQAC of the college considers professional development programmes to be a critical component for appraising the teachers of how the learning field is shaping and evolving. IQAC in association with different departments organized several programmes within the college to update teachers with the advancements happening in their respective fields of teaching-learning.

DAV College Bathinda organised Lectures on “Cyber Crime and Cyber Security”.(03.03.2025)

The Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with IQAC, IIC and Senior Citizen Brotherhood, Bathinda organized a lecture on “Cybercrime and Cyber Security” for senior citizens and the students of the college The lectures were delivered by Dr. Shishpal Jindal, DAV College Bathinda , Sh. Gagandeep Gill , Cyber Cell Punjab Police Bathinda, Sh. Ashutosh Kumar, RM, SBI Bathinda, and Sh. Ashok Kumra, DGM (Retd.), SBI Bathinda.

The primary objective of organising the lecture was to raise awareness about the increasing number of frauds occurring through the internet in our daily lives. Several key topics were covered during the session, including the definition of cybercrime, the dark web, common indicators of malware infections, and the importance of various government initiatives like Chaksu, Cyberdost, Sancharsathi, and Taf-Cop. Additional subjects like dangerous apps, virtual phone numbers, and masked Aadhar cards were also discussed.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Registrar Dr. Satish Grover, Coordinator IIC & HoD of Computer Science Dr. Vandana Jindal, Coordinator IQAC Dr. Pawan Kumar, Patron, Senior Citizen Brotherhood Prof. Ashok Gupta, President, Senior Citizen Brotherhood Sh. DAV College Bathinda Hosts Expert Lecture on “Fitness for Elderly/Older Adults”.(23.01.2025)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Intuition’s Innovation Council (IIC) of DAV College, Bathinda, organized an expert lecture on “Fitness for Elderly/Older Adults” by Dr. Rati, a renowned Physiotherapist, Educator, and Healthcare Provider certified by the Ministry of Education, Canada.

The lecture, held on 23-1-2025 was attended by senior citizens from the Senior Citizens Brotherhood, Bathinda, and faculty members of DAV College Bathinda.Vice Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Registrar Dr. Satish Grover, Incharge IIC and Head, Department of Computer Science Dr. Vandana Jindal, Incharge IQAC Dr. Pawan Kumar graced the occasion.

Prof. Parveen Kumar welcomed the speaker, Dr. Rati and the members of Senior Citizens Brotherhood along with Mr. Ashok Kamara President Senior Citizens Brotherhood, Sh. N.M. Bansal, Vice-President, Prof. AK Gupta Patron, Sh. Rattan Lal Garg, Secretary, Sh. Ashwani Berry Officiating Cashier and Mr. M.R. Jindal, Press Secretary of Senior Citizens Brotherhood Club.
Dr. Rishm conducted the stage proceedings. Dr. Rati shared her expertise on exercise routines, fall prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications that can improve the overall health and well-being of the seniors.

The audience actively participated in the Q&A session, seeking guidance on managing age-related health issues. Dr. Rati emphasized the importance of regular exercise, social engagement, and mental stimulation in preventing chronic diseases and improving quality of life among older adults.

Mr. Ashok Kamara, President, Senior Citizens Brotherhood, and Prof. A.K Gupta expressed gratitude to Dr. Rati for sharing her knowledge and expertise with the community.

The event was a huge success, The Principal of the College Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma praised the efforts of IIC & IQAC of DAV College, Bathinda and wished for organization of more such lectures and workshops in the future.

DAV College Bathinda organized ‘Free Diagnostic Eye Testing and Health Checkup Camp’. (26.09.2024)

On September 26, 2024 NSS Department, Red Ribbon Club and Student Welfare Department, Institute’s Innovation Council and Internal Quality Assurance Cell of DAV College Bathinda organised a Free Diagnostic Eye Testing Camp and a Health Check-up Camp for staff members and students. The eye testing camp was organised in association with SD Mahabir Dal Hospital, Bathinda. Health checkup camp was organised in collaboration with Lifeline Charitable Lab, Bathinda.

The Principal of the College Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Registrar Dr. Satish Grover, Coordinator Institute’s Innovation Council Dr. Vandana Jindal, Coordinator Internal Quality Assurance Cell Dr. Pawan Kumar, NSS Coordinators Prof. Amit Kumar Singla and Dr. Prabhjot Kaur, Prof. Neha Garg and Dr. Monika Ghulla formally welcomed the team of SD Mahavir Dal Hospital Bathinda and Lifeline Charitable Lab Bathinda.

Dr. Sanya Garg, Eye specialist, Optical Phaco and Lasik Surgeon, Medical and Retina Specialist working in Mahabir Dal Hospital visited for all Eye related problems. Mr. Jaspal Mehta, Dr. Risham (working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer, DAV College Bathinda) and Mr. Bharat Bhushan Khushreja from the Lifeline Charitable Lab Bathinda provided their services for this medical camp at concessional rate. Around 150 students and staff members of the college availed the benefits of this camp.

The Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma appreciated the efforts of NSS Coordinators Prof. Amit Kumar Singla, Dr. Prabhjot Kaur and Dr. Amar Santosh Singh, Dean Student welfare(Girls) Dr. Neha Jindal and Dean Student Welfare (Boys) Prof. Pawanpreet Singh, Prof. Neha Garg and Dr. Risham for the successful organisation of the Health Check-up Camps.

IQAC and IIC organised a value added programme, “A Complete Retirement Planning” by Dr. Sanjay Mittal, Regional Head, ICICI Bank. The Principal of the College Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Registrar Dr. Satish Grover, Staff Secretary Prof. Kuldeep Singh, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Pawan Kumar, IIC Coordinator Dr. Vandana Jindal felicitated the guest.
Prof. Kuldeep Singh moderated the event and Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg welcomed the guest and introduced him to the audience. Dr. Sanjay Mittal shared valuable information regarding various modes of investment which would prove to be blessing in disguise at post retirement phase of life. Dr. Sanjay Mittal elaborated the key points of his book titled ” Sunshine for the Sunset; A Complete Retirement Planning Guide.” He mentions that one should save wisely for a secure future and post-retirement dreams such as travelling the world, pursuing a hobby, starting a new venture, and more. He added, “By planning in advance, one can be financially, and psychologically prepared for one’s retirement.” Recently he has also distributed the copies of his book with the staff members of the college.
Prof. Vikas Katia thanked the eminent speaker for sharing financial wisdom and investment opportunities.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of DAV College Bathinda conducted an Expert Session to observe “Cyber Jagrukta Diwas”, an initiative by Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. Other Information: The lecture was delivered by Mr. Ashish Jindal, General Manager, Punjab National Bank, Bathinda. The Principal of the College, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma felicitated the honourable Guest along with Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Head, Department of Commerce, Dr. Satish Grover Registrar, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Pawan Kumar, IIC Coordinator Dr. Vandana Jindal, Prof. Vikas Katia and Dr. Kusum Gupta. Prof. Neha Garg managed the stage and invited Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg to introduce the speaker of the day. The esteemed speaker deliberated on various issues related to online and mobile banking. The audience was famililarised with latest and most privilent financial frauds . The Principal of the College had all the words of appreciation for the concerned departments for putting all their dedicated efforts in arranging for this day. PG Department of Commerce and Management organised an Extension Lecture on “Life at B-School”. Lecture was delivered by Dr. Akash Sharma, CBSE Certified Leadership Trainer of IIM Bangalore, a Senior Management Professional, Spiritual leader Trainer, Life Coach and seasoned Entrepreneur with over 21 years of diverse professional experience in MNCs and Indian corporate world.(19.08.2017)
The Department of Hindi organized an extension lecture by Dr. Rajinder Kumar Sen, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Comparative Literature, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda on the topic “Adhunik Hindi Sahitiya Ka Samajik Paripekashya”. He deliberated over how literature in Hindi has grown over ages and so have the themes comprising of issues like environment, health, value systems, interpersonal relations, etc.

The Department of Computer Science organized a special lecture on “Captcha Code”. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Manish Jindal, Professor, Panjab University Regional Centre Muktsar on 30-09-2016.
The Department of English, organized a guest lecture on 22-11-2016 by Dr. RabinderPowar, Professor, Department of English, Punjabi University Patiala on the topic “Diasporic Poetic Expressions Under the Spectre of Globalisation”.

The Department of Economics organized a Panel Discussion and Quiz Competition on “Union Budget 2016” under Planning Forum on 10-03-2016. The students of B.A, B.Com and M.Com wholeheartedly participated in the programme and spoke on the strengths and weaknesses of the Union Budget.
The Department of Computer Science organized an extension lecture on 01-04-2016 by Prof. Simpel Jindal on “Software Testing Tools”. The lecture gave a new insight into the world of computers and technology to the students and the faculty of the department.
The Department of Economics organized an extension lecture on 10-04-2016 by Prof. Sucha Singh Gill, Senior Professor, Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID), Chandigarh on “Globalisation and Indian Economy”. The distinguished speaker articulated on Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization (LPG model) which has aimed at making the Indian economy as one of the fastest growing and globally competitive economies and elaborated on positive and negative effects of globalization.
The Department of Physics organized an extension lecture on 28-04-2016 by Mr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa on “Nuclear Astrophysics and Radioactive Ion Beans”. Mr. Randhawa is a Research Fellow at St. Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova-Scotia, Canada. He elucidated on the various elements of Nuclear and Astrophysics and motivated the students to carry research in their respective fields of interest.
The Department of Computer Science organised a conference on “Pervasive Computing” on 06-05-2016. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. A.K.Paul, Vice Chancellor, DAV University, Jalandhar. The key note speaker was Dr. Seema Bawa, Technical University, Patiala and the Guest of Honour was Dr. A.K.Verma, Technical University, Patiala.
